July 2026 was an uneventful month for gold, as the metal moved sideways as investors weighed mixed economic signals. Throughout the month, the precious metal faced a balancing act between persistent global inflation pressures—which traditionally make gold attractive—and a strengthening U.S. dollar backed by expectations that the Federal Reserve would keep interest rates higher for longer.
