By November 13, gold had reached  its monthly high of US $4,243 / oz, finally closing the month at US $4,216 / oz.

October delivered another thrilling, record-breaking chapter for gold — though not without its fair share of volatility. Gold began the period at US $3,893 / oz, with strong bullish momentum from September's extraordinary gains. As a result, by October 8th gold broke — for the first time in history — the highly symbolic US $4,000 / oz mark, just seven months after surpassing the US $3,000 / oz level.
